
Mini’imah Rashid
Mini’imah Rashid was selected as one of thirteen outstanding leaders from across the country to participate in the highly competitive Building Excellent Schools Fellowship. She also served as a national recruiter for Building Excellent Schools (BES), helping to identify strong leaders from across the country who desire to design, launch and sustain high performing urban charter schools. Prior to working at BES, Ms. Rashid was Implementation Specialist for Emory University, with a program designed to assist students in preparing for and applying to postsecondary education. In 2006, she was a School Director for the Teach For America Atlanta Summer Institute at Brown Middle School, working relentlessly to achieve ambitious goals of corps member effectiveness and student achievement for over 500 summer school students. She taught second grade at Ed S. Cook Elementary School and literature at Benjamin E. Mays High School. She received her bachelor’s from the University of Pennsylvania and her MAT from Agnes Scott College. Ms. Rashid currently serves as an assistant principal at J.E. Richards Middle School in Gwinnett County. Ms. Rashid brings leadership, education and recruiting expertise to the work of designing KIPP STRIVE Academy and identifying outstanding teachers and staff.
