Mike Stewart
A 2003 graduate of the University of Georgia with a degree in Marketing, Mike Stewart originally embarked upon a career much different than teaching. He spent four years with Sears Holdings Corporation, during which time he enjoyed much success as the Operations Manager of the largest store in the Atlanta district. However, in 2007 he decided to leave the business world to join Teach For America and enter the classroom. He served his commitment with the corps as the 4th grade mathematics teacher at Seaborn Lee Elementary in Fulton County where he was named the 2009-2010 Teacher of the Year. During this same time, he served in many leadership capacities with Teach For America as well as completed a Master's Degree from the University of Georgia in Educational Administration and Policy. As he now joins the KIPP STRIVE family, Mr. Stewart brings with him a passion for teaching and serving young people. He loves being in the classroom and watching his students realize their greatest potential. He will always set the highest of expectations for his students and will support them relentlessly throughout their pursuit of academic excellence.
